ThoroPACE Looks at Keeneland’s 10/08/22 Card

In coordination with the Soft Launch of ThoroPACE, we wanted to provide some quick thoughts on the Opening Saturday card at Keeneland.

If fields stay intact, opening Saturday at Keeneland features three events with Pace Forecasts favoring stretch runners:

Keeneland Race 4:

Pace Forecast +33.8
Most Likely Leader: #3

#6 Gold Look is the entrant to win from off the pace, but he did so with a pretty good setup.

#2 Prove Right may indeed prove to be the right one.  Neither the Sanford nor his most recent run gave much chance to off-the-pace runners.

Keeneland Race 9:

Pace Forecast +35.0
Most Likely Leader: #1

The runners most likely to rally are the Pletcher runners, #7 Forte, and #10 Lost Arc.

Keeneland Race 10:

Pace Forecast +35.0
Most Likely Leader: #1

#4 Gray’s Fable has a recent history of closing into soft paces, and the price will be right.  Other off-the-pace candidates are #9 Casa Creed and #12 Set Piece.
